EXPERIENCE

Senior Business Analyst - San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) - San Diego, CA
February 2016 - Current

  1. Lead transportation demand management marketing campaigns and develop the annual TDM marketing plan, goals, schedules and budget. 

  2. Supervise the outreach team responsible for promoting alternative transportation options for San Diego’s largest employers. 

  3. Manage two mini-grant programs that offer funding to businesses and schools that promote alternative transportation. 

  4. Oversee contracts with three transportation consultants to ensure all goals and objectives are met and within budget. 


Marketing Director - Rio Metro Regional Transit District - Albuquerque, NM
October 2007 - February 2016

  1. Managed the marketing, sales and customer service sections of the transit agency.

  2. Oversaw a department of 11 people, managed a $1 million budget and wrote an annual marketing plan with measurable results.

  3. Oversaw the development of creative concepts, design work and production of all marketing & communications campaigns and initiatives.

  4. Wrote & prepared news releases and talking points, organized news conferences and served as one of two department spokespeople.

  5. Managed the production of the agency’s external magazine and electronic newsletter, website and social media channels.

  6. Created a quarterly print magazine, email marketing news list of 10,000+ opt-in subscribers and numerous social media channels to effectively communicate with our customers. Partnered with outside agencies to coordinate train and bus service to large scale community events.

  7. Brought the transit advertising sales in-house and worked with staff to bring $100,000 of new revenue to the organization during the first year.

  8. Received more than 50 regional, national and international awards for outstanding advertising campaigns, events and brand messaging. 



Marketing Manager - City of Albuquerque Transit Department - Albuquerque, NM
December 2004 - October 2007

• Managed a staff of 10 people and an annual budget of nearly $1 million.

• Responsible for all marketing & branding of the Rapid Ride bus service.

• Implemented marketing campaigns which led to a 29% increase in bus ridership.
• Wrote news releases, pitched stories and served as spokesman for Department.

Chief Weather Forecaster & News Reporter, WLIO-TV NBC - Lima, OH
January 2000 - February 2003

• Created an original forecast for the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts each weeknight.

• Worked as a general assignment reporter covering stories from breaking news to features, including live remotes and personal interviews.

• Active in community events, often serving as a keynote speaker for banquets and festivals.
